On the Anthropic Principle
If
all was as it was at the beginning
Because
its consequence must be its cause,
Being
is but the foreghost of becoming,
Freedom
the future source of present laws.
And
if our ancestors must ratify
Their
being by begetting memories,
They
sing themselves to being as they die
And
we fulfill their ancient prophecies.
And
if this moment is the spring of what
Will
one day call our moments into being,
They
walk among us, potent, lovely, not
Yet
born, and shape our seasons with their seeing.
